Salford Sunrise is the first book I've read by Rags Daniels.I was absolutely amazed. It may be the best book I've ever read, and I've read thousands.
It's an incredibly well written gritty realistic crime novel, in first person, with a lot of British expressions. I didn't understand all the references, but it doesn't matter because it was like reading the words of someone who'd really lived the story.
I give Salford Sunset 5 stars. Highly recommend.

Rags, has a way with words! This is another well written, as well as very witty story from this author.
BOOK 1
Salford Sunrise, as the book is named, begins in Salford in 1955. Jimmy Sutherland tells his own story. When Jimmy agrees to secretly meet Owen, the local oddball, his introduction to guns begins. Soon after, Jimmy makes his first kill, and before long moves to London where he links up with Frank Steadman. His dangerous career begins...
BOOK 2
1995 -Time has moved on! Jimmy is back in home territory after 40 years. Murders that took place in the past remain a source of frustration and revenge is in the air. Mad Mary's involvement complicates the situation and Frank Steadman's intervention changes the course of events. With its lies and deceit, as well as twists and turns this book is certainly a page turner.
This thriller has great descriptions of time and place with many notable characters. Involvement in underworld activity, politics at home and abroad, intrigue, murder, revenge and sex, makes this a fast paced novel a mustread.
